Dissemination of Agrometeorological Advisories and Products to Farming Communities in Different Upazila and Feedback from Farmers(AMISDP Component-C Package No.: DAE-C11).

The overall objective of the project is to strengthen GOB’s capacity to deliver reliable weather, water, and climate information services and improve access to such services by priority sectors and communities. The present project covers (C.3) Agricultural Disaster Risk Management Through Agro-meteorological Information Dissemination. This will support the awareness building of and dissemination to farmers of a variety of customized Ago-meteorological products and tools that will help them to better manage weather and climate risk in planning and coping with agricultural disaster risks. The details Objectives are described as follows:

  •  To disseminate Advisories and products to farming communities
  •  To provide customization services in the deployed software
  •  To provide maintenance services during the whole project period for the deployed dissemination software
  •  To disseminate real-time advisories and products and receive feedback and reports

To provide service in generating automated SMS content
Collect Agro Meteorological information from Bangladesh Meteorological Department and the Bangladesh Water Development Board either by using the BAMIS web portal or the web portal of the software include the following services;

  •  Process those data and provide an Agro Meteorological Advisories and products service for 30,000+ lead farmers and 14,000+ Extension Officials in 487 Upazillas
  •  Develop Mobile SMS based feedback service
  •  Provide Android mobile technology-based real-time weather and climate extremes events reporting services from fields
  •  Provide Android mobile technology-based training, awareness camping, event monitoring, and documentation
  •  Process data and provide services for a different Government organization

The Voice and Text Based services; Feedback Services; Reporting services on weather and climate extremes; Provisioning of geo-fencing; Field event monitoring and documentation services; Visualize information through the online map; Creation of systematic documentation of all reported events; Social and Multimedia Integration services; Data and Application Backups
